Meal boxes and take-out menus for the holidays

Catering boxed lunches and take-out menus for special occasions have really taken off in the last few years, for reasons we all know.

And we enjoyed it! Whether it’s for the chance to enjoy a gourmet meal in the comfort of your own home, because you don’t feel like cooking too much or want to limit dirty dishes, take-out menus from our favorite restaurants are always popular.

Here are 4 options for meal boxes and take-out menus for a gourmet holiday season at home with your loved ones!

The dynamic duo of chefs Francis Blais and Camilo Lapointe-Nascimento have put together a feast for the holidays.

Prepare your appetite, because the menu is copious and delicious!

To start the meal, as a supplement, you can go for the oysters Rockefeller and the foie gras parfait with Sauterne which was delicious.

The first course of the menu is a carrot and turnip soup followed by a beef wellington with tourtière stuffing and a “pork meatlball ragout” sauce, inspired by the traditionnal “ragout de boulettes et patte de porc”.

All this with potatoes, pickled beets and homemade ketchup.

We finish the whole with a succulent Queen Elizabeth cake.

We were lucky enough to receive the menu and frankly, it was excellent. We loved the combination of gourmet dishes with more traditional holiday elements.

The portions are generous, the menu for two could easily have been for three people.

Available December 15-16-17, 21-22-23, 28-29-30. From $140, see options and order.

Édouard and Léo

Chef Marc-André Jetté, of the restaurant Hoogan et Beaufort, is behind the Édouard et Léo butcher shop. We can expect a real feast for the holidays with two gourmet options:

  • Holiday meal turkey ballotine stuffed with trumpets of Moors and bacon
  • Holiday meal roast filet mignon with foie gras

Both menus come with a burrata (condiment squash, black garlic vinaigrette, capicollo chips and fresh basil), truffled mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, foie gras gravy and green salad.

They can be ordered with or without a yule log, for 2 or 4 people. From $115, order online.

With Plaisirs Traiteurs

Holiday Box AvecPlaisirs Traiteurs

Earlier this fall, AvecPlaisirs Chefs Traiteurs partnered with several big names in the Montreal culinary scene (Ricardo, Frédéric Morin of Joe Beef restaurant and nutritionist Isabelle Huot) to offer a distinctive culinary experience for corporate lunches.

And for the holiday season, AvecPlaisirs Chefs Traiteurs adds meals conceived especially for this period of the year to its offer.

These meals have been revisited and adapted for all holiday events, from office parties to Christmas dinners and more.

We had the opportunity to discover the very successful Holiday Executive Box – Land and Sea. On the menu, tuna back with parsley crumbs, fine Nicoise lettuce, speculoos tartlet with foie gras, lobster slider from the Magdalen Islands, grilled flank steak, shrimps, grilled vegetables, mesclun, sweet and sour pepper
and a yule log (Mont Blanc, bourbon chestnut, hazelnut crunch and blackcurrant compote).

In addition to being delicious, these menus do not need to be reheated, so they can be served at any occasion.

Other boxes are also available on the AvecPlaisirs website. From $31.95, order online .
