Fresh Kava, apple cider cocktail
The perfect summer cocktail! The combination of cucumber and cider brings a lot of freshness, balanced by a dash of bitters, ginger syrup, and lemon juice.
Ingredients
- 4 slices of Lebanese cucumber
- 1 egg white
- 1 dash of Angostura bitters
- ½ oz simple ginger syrup
- ¾ oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 oz apple cider
- Ice
Equipment needed
- 1 shaker
- 1 muddler
- 1 jigger
For serving
- Lemon zest
- Cucumber skewer
- Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- In a shaker, pour the lemon juice and ginger syrup.
- Add the cucumber slices.Using the muddler, gently press the cucumber slices to release some juice.
- Add 1 egg white.
- At this stage, close the shaker and shake gently for a few seconds. The egg white should start to foam.
- Carefully open the shaker to release the air.
- Add the cider and ice (about half a glass).
- Close the shaker and shake vigorously for about ten seconds.
- Pour into a cocktail glass, season with a bit of freshly ground black pepper, and garnish with lemon zest or cucumber slices.
