Cuvée des Conti is part of the Bergerac PDO in southwestern France. Composed of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and a touch of Muscadelle, this organic wine is distinguished by its aromatic complexity.
A 48-hour skin contact maceration gives it good structure, reinforced by ageing on lees.
Pale gold in color, the nose reveals notes of white peach, preserved lemon and rose. On the palate, there’s a well-balanced roundness and liveliness, accompanied by a pleasant minerality. This full-bodied wine goes perfectly with grilled fish, seafood, salads or grilled pork.
Available at the SAQ ($19.15).

Les Vignerons de Buxy is a group of 120 family-run vineyards on the Cote Chalonnaise in Burgundy.
This is a light and fresh Pinot Noir, ideal for summer. With a lovely light red color, it stands out for its aromas of red fruits such as blackcurrant and morello cherry, with hints of pepper and humus.
Versatile, it goes very well with grilled chicken, turkey, beef or duck, as well as charcuterie.
It’s also an affordable way to discover Burgundy wines. Available at the SAQ ($22.10).
Velenosi Il Brecciarolo Rosso Piceno Superiore

Il Brecciarolo Rosso Piceno Superiore is a red wine from Italy’s Marche region, made with a majority of Montepulciano and a smaller proportion of Sangiovese.
This wine, with its cherry and floral flavors, is vinified in stainless steel tanks and aged in used barrels, giving it an added complexity of spicy and cocoa notes without overpowering its fruity aromas.
An ideal companion for grilled meats and vegetables, or tomato-based dishes. Drink now, but cellar for a few more years.
We also like it for its excellent value. Available at the SAQ ($15.80).
Fontalpino Chianti-Classico 2021

Located in the heart of Tuscany, Carpineta Fontalpino is run by siblings Filippo and Gioia Cresti, who took over the family estate. The grapes used to produce this organic wine come from vineyards located in three distinct areas of the Castelnuovo Berardenga commune, at altitudes ranging from 240 to 380 meters.
This wine offers a generous, fruity nose, with aromas of violets, red fruits such as raspberry, blackberry and blackcurrant, and spicy notes. On the palate, it features good acidity, cherry notes and a woody touch brought by 12 months’ aging in French oak barrels.
Fontalpino is perfect with grilled beef, such as bistecca alla fiorentina, or lamb with rosemary. Available at the SAQ ($27.65).
