Savoy Signature launches The Reserve, a luxury boutique hotel concept, and here’s what it looks like

In the world of luxury travel, the most demanding globetrotters are constantly on the lookout for novelty and the unique experience that sets a new standard for refinement, comfort and personalized service.

This quest may now be over, as Savoy Signature, one of Madeira’s leading hotel groups, launches The Reserve an exclusive boutique hotel concept that promises to redefine the very essence of luxury.

Located within the famous Savoy Palace in Madeira, The Reserve will open its doors in December 2023, in soft opening mode, before the official inauguration in January 2024.

Having had the privilege of living this extraordinary experience first-hand, I can confirm that The Reserve will set a new benchmark in luxury travel; it is a sanctuary where attention to detail and individual desires is paramount, offering an unrivalled haven of peace.

Savoy Palace, a tribute to Madeira

The Savoy Palace, just a few steps from the historic center of Funchal, is a paradise for the senses and celebrates Madeira in all its splendor.

Since opening in 2019, it has served as a tribute to the island, subtly integrating its essence into every aspect of the venue. The decor and rooms, designed by Madeiran interior architect Nini Andrade Silva, are inspired by the island’s cultural heritage and rich landscape.

As soon as you enter the entrance hall, the majestic chandelier makes an impression, as do the banisters of the central staircase featuring the island’s embroidery motif, while the lamps and chandeliers hanging in the various spaces sometimes reproduce hibiscus or orchid, sometimes ocean seaweed.

The architecture of the building is reminiscent of rippling waves. Everything about the Savoy Palace is immense and grandiose.

Nature at the heart of the hotel

The island’s largest hotel also succeeds in making the premises intimate and warm despite its size.

The greenery that surrounds the building and the way the plants interact with the space are certainly part of this. There are some 230 botanical species on site.

The Reserve

At the pinnacle of this Madeiran paradise is The Reserve, an exclusive boutique hotel concept within the Savoy Palace.

The whole concept is designed to offer a personalized experience, tailored to customers’ needs and desires.

Separate entrance with an exclusive lobby, assignment of a Guest Experience Personal Assistant who becomes a 24-hour resource via email and Whats App as soon as the reservation is made are just a few examples of the services offered with The Reserve.

Any dietary restrictions or allergies? Information will be passed on to all hotel restaurants. Do you have a restaurant reservation to make or an excursion to organize? Your GEPA will take care of it.

Having had the opportunity to use this service, I have to say that the level of attention to detail and anticipation of needs is remarkable.

And that’s without forgetting all the attention paid during your stay, from snacks left in your room to pastéis de Nata or chocolates in the evening, free drinks in the room’s mini-bar, and so on.

For an additional charge, you can also take a private car to and from Funchal airport and take advantage of the free Meet & Greet service at the airport, ensuring that your transition from airport to hotel runs smoothly.

Once you’ve arrived at Savoy Palace, you’re then taken in a dedicated private elevator to the 16th floor, where the heart of The Reserve beats and where you’ll find Jacarandá Lounge & Club.

It’s a rooftop oasis, including an infinity pool with panoramic views of Funchal and the ocean, reserved exclusively for guests of The Reserve.

Rooms at The Reserve

Each of The Reserve’s 40 rooms is an oasis of elegance and comfort. Some suites even boast a private swimming pool and personal terrace.

The decoration of each room draws its inspiration from the colors and flora of Madeira, offering a beautiful immersion in the local culture.

The Savoy Palace gastronomic experience

With 7 restaurants and bars to choose from, the Savoy Palace’s gastronomic offering is hard to ignore. Each restaurant offers a different experience and menu.

Restaurant Pau de Lume, for example, focuses on sharing dishes, while sports bar The Vimes also offers cocktail workshops and Madeira wine tastings.

A meal at the Japanese-inspired Nikkei restaurant is not to be missed, with dishes featuring exceptionally fresh local fish.
