A simple, refreshing, and deliciously tangy cocktail, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ oz quality rum (Appleton Estate Reserve 8 years)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup (see note*)
  • Ice cubes

Garnish:

  • An orange zest (optional)

Other:

  • A shaker

Instructions

  1. Shake all ingredients (except the orange zest) in a shaker with ice until the shaker feels very cold to the touch.
  2. Pour into a small coupe glass.
  3. Garnish with the orange zest.

Notes

Simple Syrup: To prepare simple syrup, mix 1 cup of water with 1 cup of sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved. Let it cool. This syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for several weeks.
