Each week is rich in culinary discoveries. New products arrive on grocery store shelves while others are sometimes discovered while attending an event or by chance.
Here are 5 products that have aroused our taste buds and won our hearts with their exceptional quality, authenticity and delicious flavors.

1. The 1-2-3 Olé range of Paella Marisol
We had the chance to test their paella kit available online * the previous fall and it was a hit. Delicious ready-to-eat paella kits with everything you need: spices, rice, etc. and an authentic taste.

And now Paella Marisol has another line of products available both on their website and in grocery stores, the 1-2-3 Olé kits.
The 1-2-3 Olé range offers paellas and a fideua, which can be prepared in 3 steps and in only 20 minutes. Just add the vegetables and proteins of your choice and you’re done.
Three preparations are offered:
- seafood in fish broth
- vegan with vegetable broth
- and meat in chicken broth.
2. Acylon salts

We are finally starting to find some Quebec sea salts and those of Alcyon are a nice addition to this category of products.
Alcyon is a family business from the Magdalen Islands. The sea salt is handmade and is produced in an artisanal way through the evaporation of the sea water.
Three flavored salts are offered: 3 vegetables (celery, leeks and carrots), spicy maple and lemon parsley.
It is a perfect salt to bring a small aromatic touch to your recipes and enhance the flavors of your dishes. Alcyon salts are distributed in 50 g formats and are available in more than 25 outlets across Quebec.
3. BabaCool chocolates

Atelier BABACOOL is a new artisanal chocolate factory located in Mont-Blanc, in the Laurentians.
BABACOOL’s chocolate palettes offer a crunchy texture and original flavors that are a bit retro, which are reflected in the choice of ingredients: crispy quinoa, popcorn, sponge pulls or pancake flakes. It’s a 41% milk chocolate from Barry Callebaut that is used to make the bars, that also comes from the Cocoa Horizons fair trade program.
These bars will make beautiful gifts, delicately decorated with chocolate or candy pearls, which bring small colorful touches to the whole.
Four flavors are available for now and they are excellent: Cappuccino Crepe, Spicy Quinoa and Espelette Pepper, Orange Sponge Pull, Corn Burst with a touch of fleur de sel.
BABACOOL bars are available in various fine grocery stores as well as on the online boutique Les Minettes with delivery everywhere in Quebec.
4. Sauce bars to cook Bar to Cook

Don’t let their appearance fool you, Bar to Cook bars are not chocolate palettes but rather sauces in bars. They allow you to concoct delicious meals in a few steps because you only need to add a liquid of your choice (water, coconut milk or tomato sauce for example) to obtain a tasty dish.
The following sauces are available: Moroccan, Indian, Tex-Mex, Mediterranean and Spanish. One of our favorites? The Indian bar, well spiced, with aromas of curry, turmeric and ginger. All you need to do is add your choice of liquid, lentils or chicken, vegetables and that’s it! The ingredients are organic, without additives, without preservatives and 100% natural. Available in many supermarkets and online.
5. Made Good snacks

Made Good brand snacks have the advantage of being free of common allergens. All MadeGood products are also certified gluten-free, non-GMO and vegan. This makes them perfect for people with allergies but also for people who are lactose intolerant or celiac.
But you don’t have to have an allergy to enjoy Made Good products. A favorite here are the puffed crackers, available in cheese flavor, which are reminiscent of small fish with cheese (but better). Perfect for the aperitif! We also love the mini-biscuits, soft bars, granola bites and crunchy squares that are super convenient for breakfast on the go or a snack on the road. Available in grocery stores.
