Between the hours that strech before dinner, training and afternoon or late night cravings, we’re often looking for snack suggestions.
In an ideal world, we would make our own bars and muffins, but we don’t need to feel guilty if we don’t have time or don’t feel like making them!
This is exactly why there are delicious ready-made options in grocery and online stores.
Since the beginning of fall, I’ve had the chance to try several new products here are my top 8 delicious snacks and treats.
1. Angie’s Boom Chicka Pop Salted Maple Kettle Corn
This snack is at the top of the list because it’s one of my favorites! The maple taste is very delicate and it’s pretty hard not to go through the bag as soon as you open it. It’s a perfect snack when watching a movie or while working!
To ease the guilt, note that this snack is only 70 calories per cup, gluten-free, non-GMO and vegan. My advice? Get more than one bag, you won’t regret it!
2. Simply Protein Plant Based Snack Bars
Let’s continue with a “more classic” snack. These snack bars contain 12 g of proteins, which make them very sustaining, and 2 g of sugar each. They are also gluten-free, GMO-free and rich in fiber.
The two flavors I tasted were a success at home. If I preferred the lemon and coconut one, it’s the chocolate one that won the favor of the hubby.
3. Sesame Snaps Seeds & Grains bars
Who remembers eating Sesame Snaps when we were younger? They still exist and now have new seeds and grains bars. Made with honey and of course sesame seeds, they are also contain amaranth, millet, quinoa or buckwheat.
I have to say they are very tasty and sustaining. And they came handy quite a few mornings when I was too rushed to eat breakfast. Also, they are a source of fibre and omega-6, are gluten-free, have no preservatives and artificial flavours or colors.
4. KIND Minis Bars Almond Sea Salt & Dark Chocolate
These mini bars from KIND are a hybrid between a treat and a snack. Made with almonds, dark chocolate and sea salt, they are as addictive as they are sustaining.
5. Prana Sumsuma Organic Sesame Squares
If you love chocolate and sesame seeds, you need to try these organic and fair trade sesame and chocolate bites.
6. Prana Granolove
I received a sample of Granolove, an oatmeal cookie crunch organic granola, and it was love at first bite! It’s slightly sweet, high in fiber and just plain delicious, as good as a snack as it is for breakfast.
7. Patience Fruit & Co Sour Cran Dried Cranberries Candies
These sour cranberries have been around for a while now but I still love them! In fact, all jujube lovers won’t be able to resist these strawberry, peach or cherry flavored dried cranberries.
Gluten-free and vegan, these cranberries are very rich in fiber and slightly sweet (8g per bag), without gelatin, GMO and artificial colors or flavors.
8. MadeGood Granola Minis Apple Cinnamon
Do you have food allergies or live with people who have them? Made Good offers a very wide range of products without allergens and above all, excellent in taste. Between the tender bars, granola, crispy squares and cookies, we can say that they have a lot of choice. The granola bites are excellent as are the vanilla “Rice Krispies” crispy squares.
